Meet Ladybird.

Colleen found her on petfinder.com yesterday. We’ve been thinking about getting a Blue Lacy for some time now. When this gal popped up in the Lampasas animal shelter, we jumped at the opportunity and I made the drive up this morning. She is 11 months old and not 100% Blue Lacy, but a good source thinks she might be 3/4 full blood. The Blue Lacy is the official state dog of Texas. They are known for their strong work ethic, especially when it comes to herding and hog hunting. Colleen and I look forward to our adventures together with Ladybird, and who knows, maybe one day she’ll corner a pig and I’ll knife it and bring home some tasty pork!
